Postcard from Newport

One of my favorite things about Portland is that it lends itself well to spontaneous adventures. One hour east and you’re at the beach, one hour west and you’re in the mountains.

So when an opportunity arose to escape the city, I jumped at it.

My friend and I drove to Newport, Oregon and stayed in a literary-based hotel. I woke up that morning in an Oscar Wilde themed room. Read Moby Dick while watching the ocean waves crash along the coast. We ate clam chowder and giggled at sea lions.

Safe to say, I’m still daydreaming about this weekend.
