Postcard from Quinault
My first memories with a film camera was playing with my mom’s growing up. The body would be too large for my small hands, the mechanics of it was beyond what I could comprehend. My four-year-old self treated it as a simple point-and-shoot and film cameras remained to be exactly that for me…until recently.
This past winter, I picked up my own personal Pentax. I’ve grown to love every charming and frustrating aspect of the process: the satisfying click that echoes through the chamber when I shoot, the held breath as I wait for the scene to come together, the despair when the photo comes out under or over exposed.
I’ve found myself taking this camera with me everywhere I can - frequently choosing it over my iPhone (GASP).
So of course I brought it on a road trip to Quinault, Washington.
These are my favorite shots from that weekend.
